Miss Umarji is a Consultant Orthopaedic Hand & Wrist Surgeon who specialises exclusively in Hand & Wrist conditions. Her NHS base is at St George’s Hospital, London, one of  Europe’s leading teaching hospitals and also one of London’s Major Trauma centres, where she is the Clinical Director for Surgery and the Lead Orthopaedic Hand / Wrist Surgeon.

She qualified from Oxford University and has advanced fellowship training for specialised hand & wrist conditions.

Her work comprises a fantastic mix of complex traumatic and non-traumatic conditions as well as the more straightforward everyday conditions around the hand & wrist. She has research interests in Dupuytren’s Disease, the use of Virtual Reality in Wide Awake Surgery and the efficacy of platelet rich plasma (PRP).

As a former national level cricketer and rugby player as well as Double Oxford Blue, Miss Umarji understands the potentially devastating impact of injuries for sportsmen and women.

Miss Umarji consults in Wimbledon and Central London. She has excellent relations with allied professionals (plastic surgeons, radiologists, hand therapists, physiotherapists…) and aims to deliver excellent total care for all her patients.
